Senior Program Associate, Partnerships and Community Engagement
Tanzania has 11 years of experience in youth development, community engagement and entrepreneurship with organizations including Public Allies, Spring Leaf Solutions and Mentors of Minorities in Education. She founded and leads UnLock’N Your Freedom, a consultancy that helps small businesses and people reach their highest potential. Tanzania began her career as an intern through the Michigan State University’s Study Away program and an AmeriCorps member for AmeriCorps Public Allies. She authored the book “When the Soul Cries” and is board co-chair of the AmeriCorps Alums D.C. chapter. Her honors include the Emergence Community Arts Collective’s 2016 Youth Leadership and Advocacy Community Impact Award. A Detroit native, Tanzania is a first-generation college graduate of Michigan State University and has an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. She is pursuing a doctorate in leadership at Howard University. Her mission is to transform people’s lives through self-love, liberation, entrepreneurship and finding purpose.
