Nicole Ross

Nicole is assistant director of student affairs at Coahoma Community College in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She previously taught tenth-grade English language arts at Clarksdale High School and at Coahoma Agricultural High School. Nicole had been accepted into Teach for America as a 2014 corps member and placed in the Mississippi Delta region to teach high school ELA. She has completed a Mississippi charter school fellowship program through Mississippi First and an educational policy advocacy fellowship program through TeachPlus. During her time as an educator, she was also recognized as teacher of the year twice, was a mentor and lead teacher for first- to third-year teachers, and served on the district’s leadership team, among other accomplishments. Nicole served as an advisory board member for mental wellness for Coahoma County. A Bronx native, she attended Georgia State University, graduating with a degree in English and obtained her masters in the science of education from Johns Hopkins University.
