Julian Carter

Julian Carter currently serves as an analyst for Southeast Florida Fusion Center, where he conducts analytical assessments and research regarding cybersecurity for Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County, as well as collaborating on research with analysts throughout the state and southeast United States. Julian graduated from the University of Miami as a first- generation college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Julian continued on to get his master’s degree in the same field, with research focused on geospatial recidivism, crime mapping and analysis, and inequality in occupational mobility. Post-undergrad, Julian served 5 years as a crisis responder for Housing and Residential Life at the University of Miami, where he spent his nights aiding students going through an array of crises ranging from student conflict to mental health concerns. Additionally, while serving as a crisis responder, Julian organized and hosted various programs related to student mental health, post-college financial preparation and responsibility, and student leadership. While serving as a supervisor for Housing and Residential Life, Julian advocated for additional student staff leadership training, more effective communication, and post-college job skills. Julian is originally from Boston, Massachusetts, and maintains “It’s far too cold to go back.” In his spare time, Julian enjoys spending time with his wife, Catherine, building Legos, and practicing Tae Kwon Do.
