Kylon Hooks

Kylon Hooks is a public servant, most recently working to end homelessness for all Illinoisans experiencing it. With over ten years of experience in non-profit and social services, Kylon continues to hone his skills in servant leadership. Beginning his career as a resource advocate, helping youth navigate public benefits and community resources, his work has primarily focused on supporting global majority youth in their journey to housing stability.
Kylon has also provided operational leadership across local, municipal, and state governments in Illinois on issues of non-violent conflict resolution, and violence prevention and intervention. He has co-authored works on “Youth Resilience” and “Culturally Responsive Leadership” and believes in transforming systems through a lens of racial justice and equity.
