Andres Carlos-Tamez

Andres is a student at DePaul University where he is pursuing his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television. He has worked with TCEP, an organization in La Villita Chicago that aims to make social change in the neighborhood by mentoring youth and supporting struggling elderly. He brought his filmmaking skills to the table and was able to make promotional videos for the organization, including a short documentary that highlighted issues in the community like gentrification. He also works with the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center (the Center), a place that focuses on the arts in underrepresented communities. A musician at heart, Andres teaches music and is a commissioned artist at the Center.
